Liberty tree in Lamentin

May 22, 1848 : an insurrection forces the authorities of Martinique to proclaim the slaves emancipation before the arrival of the decree of slavery abolition. Trees of the Liberty are planted, as during the French Revolution. Chains and collar shackles are buried in their roots.
