Composition of a yawl crew

The yawlmen of Le François are among the best of all the Martinique. The crew of a yawl is composed of eleven men. The helmsman manages the maneuver. Holding a paddle, two men orient the yawl. Pressed against wood posts going outside the craft, five men are leaning out. The 3 last orient the sails according to the direction of the wind (sheeting maneuver).
