Steam boiler in the park of Habitation Clément

Steam is used since the end of the 19th century to make operate the mills which permit to grind the sugar canes, but also in the process of the rum distillation. The hearth of the furnace is supplied with bagasse, residue of the grinding of the cane. The heat generated by the combustion brings the water contained in the furnace to the boil. This boiler functioned until the sixties.
