The first church was constructed in this place in 1671. The fires and the natural disasters (tidal wave, earthquakes, cyclones,) destroyed the successive buildings. The present building, inaugurated in 1982 has been renovated according to the plans of Pierre-Henry Picq, but according to antiseismic standards.
