This species of Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) native to South America
grows in rivers. In Africa, this intrusive plant is considered as a calamity,
because it suffocates other plants and fishes. Water Hyacinth also favours
the proliferation of mosquitoes, carrier of diseases as malaria.
